Hello! My name is Citlalli Citlalmina Anahuac and I am an Ethnic Studies and History professor. I am a historian, poet, activist. For that past 27years I have been studying my history as de-indigenized Mexicana and have dedicated my activism, poetry, and research to understanding my history!

Since 2008  I have been using social media as a way to share a multi-dimensional approach to reclaiming our history and identity.

My passion is to share the hidden history that is kept from us and celebrate who we are with accessible education for all ages and a priority to teaching my BIPOC community.

I offer free courses on my youtube channel, present my message to various educational and social spaces!

Anti-Colonial Learning (previously E-Decolonize) is an autonomous learning space that offers an interdisciplinary approach to learning anti-colonial history for BBIPOC folks. Although recordings are available for all to purchase, LIVE Class discussion and courses are a BBIPOC space. Strong emphasis is given to visual learning and an unrecorded discussion created to nurture a safe space where we can speak our truths. The goal is to provide Native/Indigenous/Brown folks with a general understanding of different historical events by offering some of the newest research that is breaking away from the traditional narrative. Reading material and additional multi-media resources are shared so that students can continue learning on their own.

L.A. TIMES ARTICLE 1/27/22- JEAN GUERRERO "COLUMN: THE TERM LATINX WASN'T MADE BY 'WOKE' WHITES. STOP ERASING ITS CREATORS"

"Others argue the term doesn’t do enough. Mexican historian and activist Citlalli Citlalmina Anahuac makes the case that both Latinx and Latino are anti-Indigenous, like the term Hispanic, often seen as centering Spanish colonizers. “The term ‘Latin’ is Eurocentric and centralizes whiteness,” she told me. “By adding an ‘x’ or an ‘e,’ we’re just playing with a colonial identity.”

Book Anahuac for your next event, workshop, or conference.

At the moment, I am available for Virtual talks only. I am a full-time educator and mother and my priority is to be present in those realms. Email me to inquire my fees and compensation. Thank you for thinking of me and expanding your community's awareness and understanding.
